Hazardous Waste is NOT accepted in waste collection bins. Hazardous Waste will be charged back to the customer or returned to the customer for proper disposal. Hazardous Waste means and includes, but is not limited to, a wet or dry cell battery, pressurized containers, aerosol containers, propane containers, portable fire extinguisher, tires, fluorescent tubes, asbestos, railroad ties and other corrosives, industrial waste, chemical waste, medical waste, animal carcass, pharmaceuticals, medical syringe, mercury switch or thermostat, explosives, flammable or highly combustible material such as a celluloid cutting, moving picture film, or an oil-soaked or gasoline-soaked rag, a liquid or solid medicine including a pill or vaccine, a container or vial from which a pill or vaccine is extracted that contains any amount of such pill or vaccine, Antifreeze, gasoline & other fuels, used motor oil & filters, automotive batteries, household chemicals & cleaning products like aerosols, bleach, paints, pool chemicals, rat poison, solvents, cleaners. Other household items such as; batteries (all types), lighters and lighter fluid, nail polish & remover. Lawn & garden products such as fertilizer, pesticides & herbicides. Health products or pharmaceuticals, expired medications, vitamins, sharps & syringes, and biohazardous or radioactive items. White Goods such as a refrigerator, freezer, humidifier and/or air conditioner must be free of CFC’s. All Batteries are not acceptable as waste and should be recycled. Batteries can be taken to your municipal household hazardous waste facility or special collection days.
